Project Description

To inform their strategy, our client needed to understand the market size, growth, and driving trends around plant-based and conventional eggs within the food service landscape in the United States. The client also wanted an in-depth assessment of the competitive landscape, consumer preferences, purchase motivations, and use of relevant egg formats.

Deliverables

We provided the client with a robust report of the plant-based and conventional egg markets, as well as the competitive landscape across food service and retail in the United States. We partnered with our sister company Moonshot Collaborative to conduct in-depth interviews with egg consumers using the Jobs to be Done framework.

The client used these insights to inform the go-to-market strategy for their US launch.

Results

We used our findings to identify the most exciting and promising opportunities to pursue and worked collaboratively with the client to build a strategy that would capture those opportunities. The client also used the findings from our research to prepare for key sales meetings, armed with the depth and breadth of industry knowledge that was needed to make compelling sales cases. In fact, through our research and analysis, we were able to size the egg market in key formats for top QSR chains, which enabled the client to get hyper-specific about the opportunity size in their sales meetings with those chains. They also successfully used the insights to support fundraising efforts.
